Lights Up! – Friday, June 9
The Stephen Foster Drama Association and Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company are joining forces to present Lights Up! on Friday, June 9 on the grounds of My Old Kentucky Home State Park.
What is Lights Up?
Lights Up! is a chance for guests to experience Kentucky’s official outdoor musical in a safe and accommodating environment. An exclusive performance of The Stephen Foster Story will be held at the J. Dan Talbott Amphitheater on June 9 at 8pm, but the fun doesn’t start there! Pre-show festivities will feature LG&E and KU’s Louie the Lightning Bug and Mini City demonstration, music, face painting, plenty of refreshments, and more. All of the festivities get underway at 6:30pm just outside the amphitheater, with easy access to seating for the show.
“We are so excited to have LG&E and KU return as our partner for Lights Up! this year. This is not only a service to our community, but also an opportunity to share what we do with a group that may not otherwise have a chance to see it,” said Managing Artistic Director of The Stephen Foster Story, Johnny Warren. “Our cast and crew truly count this as one of their favorite performances all summer long. We are honored to provide this opportunity to the community.”
How do I reserve my seats?
The Lights Up! performance is offered at no cost to those with special needs and their families, care providers, and support communities. For reservations, call The Stephen Foster Story box office at 502-348-5971 or email Chelsie Taylor at chelsiet@stephenfoster.com. Remember, pre-show festivities begin at 6:30pm followed by the performance at 8pm. Help spread the word so everyone has a chance to enjoy this Kentucky tradition. Doodah!
